GCSE Science Changes
There have been a number of changes to the GCSE Science syllabus which will take effect this academic year. As a result we currently have two sets of students taking their Science GCSE, those on the new syllabus and those on the old one which has its final examinations in 2017, with the first exams for the new syllabus from 2018.
The new GCSE Combined Science will have 4 terminal exams resulting in the award of two general Science GCSE's and there will be no coursework element. The new Triple Science GCSE where students will attain separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics GCSE's will result in three GCSE grades. Again there is no coursework element to the triple award Science GCSE's.
